Welcome to Android Central! You don't use a file manager to move an app--you have to do it within the App Manager (Settings>Apps). Not all devices allow this function either, and for those that do, not all apps can be moved. To see if you can move an app, go to Settings>Apps, select an app, and see if there is a Move to SD button. If you don't see one, check several other apps (since not all apps allow this function). If no app has the button, then your device doesn't allow it.
The main things you can move with a file manager app are discrete files (like photos, videos, or music files; or documents). For more info on how to maximize what little internal storage you have, see this guide: http://forums.androidcentral.com/amb...-warnings.html

Totally inaccurate info. I'm trying to do the same. I have the same sd card I had in my old phone and downloaded the same games to this one. I know they can go on my sd card because I've had them them there originally. How do you figure that one out?

I know I'm late to respond, but what exactly did you think was inaccurate? Apps have to be installed directly to internal storage, after which a portion of the app can then be moved to the SD card (if the phone supports this function).

Welcome to Android Central! Not all phones support the ability to move apps to the SD card--and remember, those that do can only move a portion of the app to the SD, not the entire thing.
What do you mean by using the file manager to send your device storage to SD card? It doesn't work like that. If your Internal Storage is almost full, you'll need to get rid of things on your Internal Storage to make room for other apps to install. This can be done by uninstalling apps you rarely or never use, or moving media files (like photos, videos, music) to the SD card.
